• Preamble

  WHEREAS the Masterton Trust Lands Trustees, in lieu of a portion of the trust lands included in error in a Crown grant issued to the late WB Rhodes on the twenty-ninth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, No 2330, requested that ten acres of an educational reserve, part of Section 104, Masterton Small-farm Settlement, might be vested in the Trustees as a recreation-ground intended to be added to the Masterton Public Park on the expiration of an existing lease of Section 104: And whereas the School Commissioners of the Provincial District of Wellington conveyed to the Masterton Trustees, under the provisions of The Special Powers and Contracts Act 1885, ten acres, part of Section 104 aforesaid, adjoining the Masterton Public Park, as a recreation-ground: And whereas the Masterton Public Park was vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Masterton in trust for the purposes of public recreation and pleasure grounds by The Masterton Public Park Management Act 1901; And whereas it is desirable, in the interests of the Masterton Borough and its inhabitants, that the ten acres of land aforesaid should cease to be vested in the Masterton Trust Lands Trustees, and should become vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Masterton for the purposes of and to be used as recreation and pleasure grounds:

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
