An Act to authorise the Trustees of the Auckland Savings-bank to make a Special Donation of Twenty Thousand Dollars out of its Accumulated Profits to the Education Board of the District of Auckland to assist that Board in erecting a Suitable Building for carrying on the Work of the Technical College in the City of Auckland.
The words
“Twenty Thousand Dollars”
were substituted, as from 10 July 1967, for the words“Ten Thousand Pounds”
pursuant to section 7(1) Decimal Currency Act 1964 (1964 No 27).

Preamble
WHEREAS the trustees of the Auckland Savings-bank are desirous of making a special donation of twenty thousand dollars out of the accumulated profits of the said bank to assist the Education Board of the District of Auckland in erecting a suitable building for carrying on the work of the Technical College in the City of Auckland, and the said trustees lately passed a resolution to make such donation:

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title
The Short Title of this Act is The Auckland Savings-bank Educational Special Donation Act 1906.
2 Interpretation
In this Act, if not inconsistent with the context, Technical College means the building or buildings in the City of Auckland in which are held classes recognised by the Minister of Education in accordance with Part 5 of The Education Act 1904, and of which the Education Board of the District of Auckland is the controlling authority.
3 The Trustees may make special donation of $20,000 to the Auckland Education Board

It shall be lawful for the trustees of the said bank to pay over to the said Education Board the said sum of twenty thousand dollars out of the accumulated profits of the said bank as a special donation to the said Board for the purpose of assisting the said Board in erecting a suitable building for the work of the Technical College in the City of Auckland, and in making adequate provision for the equipment and instruction of the classes held in the said College.

and the reference to“$20,000”
were substituted, as from 10 July 1967, for the words“ten thousand pounds”
and a reference to“£10,000”
pursuant to section 7(1) Decimal Currency Act 1964 (1964 No 27).
4 Receipt of Treasurer of Board sufficient discharge
The receipt of the Treasurer of the said Board shall be a sufficient and effectual discharge to the said trustees for the said sum.
