An Act to amend the Havelock Harbour Board Act, 1905.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Havelock Harbour Board Amendment Act, 1910, and shall form part of and be read together with the Havelock Harbour Board Act, 1905.
2 Act a special Act.
This Act shall be deemed to be a special Act within the meaning of the Harbours Act, 1908, which Act is hereby incorporated with this Act.
3 Power to make special rate.
In addition to any other security for any loan which the Havelock Harbour Board is authorized to raise, the Board may make and levy a special rate, not exceeding one penny in the pound, on all the rateable property in the harbour district:
Provided that such rate shall not be made except with the previous consent of the ratepayers in the harbour district, expressed in the manner provided by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908.
