An Act to constitute the Taumarunui Hospital District.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title and commencement.
This Act may be cited as the Taumarunui Hospital District Act, 1914, and shall commence on the first day of April, nineteen hundred and fifteen, save that all elections, appointments, Orders in Council, notices, or regulations required for the purpose of bringing this Act into operation on that date may be held, made, or issued at any time after the passing of this Act.
2 Taumarunui Hospital District constituted.
(1.)
There is hereby constituted a hospital district under the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, to be called the Taumarunui Hospital District, which shall comprise the Counties of Kaitieke and Ohura and all that area in the Taupo West County described in the Schedule hereto.
Alteration of boundaries of Waikato Hospital District.
(2.)
The boundaries of the Waikato Hospital District are hereby altered by excluding therefrom the Kaitieke and Ohura Counties and all that area in the Taupo West County described in the Schedule hereto.
3 Taumarunui Hospital and Charitable Aid Board.
(1.)
The Board of the Taumarunui Hospital District shall consist of such number of representatives of the contributory districts within the hospital district as the Governor, by Order in Council, from time to time determines.
First election of members.
(2.)
The first election of members of the said Board shall be held on such day as the Governor, by Order in Council, appoints; and by the same or any subsequent Order in Council the Governor may make all such provisions as are deemed necessary for the purposes of that election.
4 Apportionment of assets and liabilities.
The Governor may, by Order in Council, determine what part (if any) of the property and liabilities of the Waikato Hospital and Charitable Aid Board shall become the property and liabilities of the Taumarunui Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, and the said Order in Council shall have effect according to the tenor thereof.
Schedule
All that area in the Auckland and Wellington Land Districts bounded towards the west and north-west generally by a line along the middle of the Ongaruhe River from its confluence with the Wanganui River to its source near Pureora Trig. Station; thence towards the north-east by a right line, being the production of the line running between Rangitoto Trig. Station and the source of the Ongaruhe River, to Lake Taupo; thence towards the east generally by the western shore of Lake Taupo to the mouth of the Waihi Stream; thence by a right line running in the direction of the summit of Tongariro Mountain to the Wanganui River; and thence towards the south-west generally by Kaitieke County, as described in the First Schedule to the Kaitieke County Act, 1910, to the confluence of the Ongaruhe and Wanganui Rivers, the place of commencement.
