This Act may be cited as the Judea Land Drainage Board Empowering Act, 1921.

In this Act “Board” means the Judea Land Drainage Board, and “district” or “said district” means the Judea Land Drainage District.

In lieu of classifying the lands in its district, or in any subdivision thereof, in accordance with the provisions in that behalf of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, the Board may from time to time, as it thinks fit, classify all lands in the district into such classes as it thinks fit, being more than four, according to the benefits derived or likely to be derived from the construction of drainage-works; and the rates shall be levied upon such classes of land in such proportions as the Board in each case appoints, provided that one of such classes may be of lands deriving no benefit upon which no rates shall be levied.

Save as otherwise provided by this Act, the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and its amendments, shall apply with respect to classifications of land under this Act.

Nothing herein contained shall affect any rate or any special rate made before the commencement of this Act:

Provided that any such rate may in any year be levied and collected as provided in this Act, provided the amount so collected is sufficient to meet the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on any loan for which it is a security.

The Board may out of its General Account pay the costs of promoting this Act.
