This Act may be cited as the Matakaoa Hospital District Act, 1925, and shall come into operation upon the first day of April, nineteen hundred and twenty-six.

There is hereby constituted a hospital district under the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, to be called the Matakaoa Hospital District, comprising the Matakaoa County.

The boundaries of the Waiapu Hospital District are hereby altered by excluding therefrom the Matakaoa County, and the reference to the said hospital district in the First Schedule to the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, shall be read accordingly.

Subject to the provisions of section nine of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, the Matakaoa Hospital Board shall consist of such number of representatives of the contributory districts within the hospital district as the Governor-General by Order in Council from time to time determines.

The first election of members of the Board shall be held on such day as the Governor-General by Order in Council appoints; and by the same or any subsequent Order in Council the Governor-General may make all such provisions as are deemed necessary for the purpose of that election.

The Governor-General shall, by Order in Council, determine what part of the property, contracts, debts, and liabilities of the Waiapu Hospital District as at the commencement of this Act shall become the property, contracts, debts, and liabilities of the Matakaoa Hospital District, and such Order in Council shall have effect according to its tenor.
