An Act to amend the New Plymouth Recreation and Racecourse Reserve Act, 1887.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

This Act may be cited as the New Plymouth Recreation and Racecourse Reserve Amendment Act, 1942, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the New Plymouth Recreation and Racecourse Reserve Act, 1887 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2 Section 4 of principal Act amended.

(1)

Section four of the principal Act, as amended by section three of the New Plymouth Recreation and Racecourse Reserve Amendment Act, 1920, is hereby further amended as follows:—

(a)

By omitting from paragraph four the words “One hundred pounds”, and substituting the words “Twenty-five pounds”:

(b)

By adding, after paragraph five, the following paragraph:—

“(6)

The said Borough Council may from time to time, subject to such terms and conditions as it deems fit,—

“(a)

Give time to the said club for payment of any moneys payable by it under this section:

“(b)

Agree with the said club that the Council will accept a lesser sum than that specified in paragraph four of this section in full satisfaction of the liability of the club under that paragraph in respect of such period as the Council thinks fit.”

(2)

Section three of the New Plymouth Recreation and Racecourse Reserve Amendment Act, 1920, is hereby consequentially amended by repealing paragraph (d) thereof.
