An Act to amend the Dunedin District Drainage and Sewerage Amendment Act, 1916.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, in consequence of the enactment of the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Act, 1946, the provisions of subsection two of section three of the Dunedin District Drainage and Sewerage Amendment Act, 1916, are in part inapt and it is desirable to amend the same:

Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

This Act may be cited as the Dunedin District Drainage and Sewerage Amendment Act, 1947.

2 Section 3 of the Dunedin District Drainage and Sewerage Amendment Act, 1916, amended.

Subsection two of section three of the Dunedin District Drainage and Sewerage Amendment Act, 1916, is hereby amended as follows: by omitting all the words after “nineteen hundred and seventeen”, and substituting in lieu thereof the words “and thereafter during the month following every general election of Councillors held pursuant to the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933. The members so appointed shall come into office immediately on their appointment, and shall hold office until their successors come into office”.
