This Act may be cited as the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Amendment Act, 1947, and shall be read together with and form part of the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Act, 1944 (herein called the principal Act).

Section seven of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from subsection one the words “June in the year nineteen hundred and forty-seven, and in the month of June”, and substituting therefor the words “January in the year nineteen hundred and forty-eight, and in the month of January”.

Section nine of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding to paragraph (c) of subsection one thereof the following words: “but in any such case he shall continue in office until his successor is elected or appointed.”
