An Act to amend the Auckland Centennial Memorial Park Act 1941.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Auckland Centennial Memorial Park Amendment Act 1952, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Auckland Centennial Memorial Park Act 1941 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Section 7 of principal Act (as to appointment and election of members of Board) amended.
Section seven of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from subsection one the words “In every year in which municipal general elections are held under the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, or any Act passed in substitution therefor, and in the month of such year following that in which such elections are held”
, and substituting the words “In the month of March next following every year in which municipal general elections are held under the Municipal Corporations Act 1933”
.
3 Election of Chairman.
Section twelve of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsection one, and substituting the following subsection:—
“(1)
At the first annual meeting of the Board following the appointment and election of its members under section seven of this Act the Board shall elect one of its members to be Chairman of the Board.”
4 Annual meeting of Board.
Section nineteen of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from subsection three the word “July”
, and substituting the word “April”
.
