An Act to apply Part II of the Rating Amendment Act 1965 to the City of Manukau
WHEREAS it is expedient and desirable that the provisions of Part II of the Rating Amendment Act 1965 should apply to the City of Manukau instead of the provisions of the Urban Farm Land Rating Act 1932 and its amendments:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Manukau City Empowering (Rates Postponement) Act 1967.
2 Part II of the Rating Amendment Act 1965 to apply to the City of Manukau
The provisions of Part II of the Rating Amendment Act 1965 shall, with the necessary modifications, apply to the City of Manukau, as if—
(a)
References in that Part to a county were references to the City of Manukau: and
(b)
References in that Part to a county council were references to the Manukau City Council.
3 Urban Farm Land Rating Act 1932 not to apply to the City of Manukau
The provisions of the Urban Farm Land Rating Act 1932 and its amendments shall not apply to the City of Manukau after the thirty-first day of March, nineteen hundred and sixty-eight, and any farm land roll which may be in force in respect of any land within the City of Manukau on the thirty-first day of March, nineteen hundred and sixty-eight, is hereby abolished.
4 Transitional provision
Notwithstanding anything contained in the Rating Amendment Act 1965, the rates-postponement values of every property in respect of which an application has been made to the Manukau City Council not later than the thirty-first day of January, nineteen hundred and sixty-eight, and has been granted by that Council whether before or after that date shall be deemed to be entered in and to appear on the valuation roll for the City of Manukau on the thirty-first day of March, nineteen hundred and sixty-eight, whether the rates-postponement value has actually been assessed and entered in the roll on or before that date or is not assessed and entered until after that date.
