An Act to amend the Otago Presbyterian Church Board of Property Act, 1906.
Preamble.
WHEREAS the Otago Presbyterian Church Board of Property has from time to time, in terms of section twenty-three of the Otago Presbyterian Church Board of Property Act, 1906, accumulated portions of the Educational Fund and has invested such accumulated fund and received interest or income in respect thereof: And whereas the Board desires to have authority as to any sum in excess of two thousand five hundred pounds received by the Board in any year under the said section twenty-three, and/or by way of interest or income on the accumulated fund as aforesaid, to apply the same at any time within a period of ten years from the thirty-first day of July, nineteen hundred and thirty, in accordance with the direction of the Synod either for the purposes mentioned in section twenty-four of the said Act or for the purpose of assisting any school or schools, college or colleges, or other educational institution or institutions in the Provincial District of Otago and Southland:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Otago Presbyterian Church Board of Property Amendment Act, 1930.
2 Private Act.
This Act is hereby declared to be a private Act.
3 Application of certain income of Educational Fund.
Notwithstanding the provisions of section twenty-four of the Otago Presbyterian Church Board of Property Act, 1906, any sum in excess of two thousand five hundred pounds received by the Board in any year under the said section twenty-three, and/or by way of interest or income on the accumulated fund as aforesaid, may be applied at any time within a period of ten years from the thirty-first day of July, nineteen hundred and thirty, in accordance with the direction of the Synod, either for the purposes mentioned in section twenty-four of the said Act or for the purpose of assisting any school or schools, college or colleges, or other educational institutions in the Provincial District of Otago and Southland.
