An Act to amend the Church of England Trusts Act, 1913.
Preamble.
WHEREAS it is desirable that to avoid inconvenience and delay the powers conferred by the said Act upon a Diocesan Synod to give authority for the selling, exchanging, and mortgaging of lands should be exercisable by the Standing Committee of such diocese when such Diocesan Synod is not in session:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Church of England Trusts Amendment Act, 1937, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Church of England Trusts Act, 1913 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Section 8 of principal Act amended.
Section eight of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding thereto the following further proviso:—
“Provided further that notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained any authority required to be given by any Diocesan Synod to any sale, exchange, or mortgage may be given by such Diocesan Synod itself, or, if the Diocesan Synod be not in session, by the Standing Committee of such diocese.”
3 Private Act.
This Act is hereby declared to be a private Act.
