An Act to Continue Delegations of Powers from the Governor notwithstanding a change of Governor.

Preamble.

Whereas under and by virtue of divers Acts of the General Assembly various powers vested by such Acts in the Governor may be delegated to Superintendents of Provinces and otherwise and such delegations have been from time to time made And it is expedient to provide that such delegations shall continue in force notwithstanding a change of Governor

Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows:—

I Short Title.

The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Delegations Continuance Act 1862.”

II Delegations of Governor shall continue notwithstanding change of Governor.

Where under and by virtue of any Act of the General Assembly or any delegation in pursuance thereof any powers vested in the Governor shall have been or shall be delegated to the Superintendent of a Province or otherwise such delegation shall continue in force notwithstanding any change of Governor subject to the conditions and restrictions contained in such delegation or prescribed in respect thereof as effectually as if the like delegation of powers subject to the like restrictions and conditions had been made by the Governor or Officer Administering the Government for the time being unless and until such delegation shall be revoked or altered in due course of law.
