An Act to regulate the Pension of William Lott Howard.
Preamble.
Whereas by “The Civil Service Superannuation Act 1858”
the Governor in Council was authorized to grant to officers placed on the retired list the allowances therein mentioned And whereas William Lott Howard retired from the civil service in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine and was placed on the retired list and an allowance was awarded to him under the provisions of the said Act And whereas in the Session of the General Assembly held in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one “The Civil Service Amendment Act 1861”
was passed and it is deemed equitable under the special circumstances which induced the retirement from the Government service of the said William Lott Howard that the allowance to him should henceforth be regulated by the provisions of “The Civil Service Amendment Act 1861”
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows—
I Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Howard’s Pension Act 1865.”
II Pension of William Lott Howard to be regulated by provisions of “The Civil Service Amendment Act 1861.”
After the passing of this Act the allowance granted to the said William Lott Howard as a retired officer of the civil service of the Colony shall be regulated by the provisions of “The Civil Service Amendment Act 1861”
and the Colonial Treasurer shall pay the said William Lott Howard the sums to which he may be so entitled accordingly.
