An Act to grant a Retiring Allowance to Edward Mayne Esquire Sergeant-at- Arms of the House of Representatives.
Preamble.
Whereas Edward Mayne Esquire Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Representatives is about to resign his office on account of advanced age and it is just that a pension should be granted to him for the remainder of his life
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows—
I Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Mayne Pension Act 1865.”
II Amount of annuity and days of payment thereof.
There shall be paid to the said Edward Mayne out of the general revenue of the Colony from the date of such resignation an annuity after the rate of two hundred pounds per annum for the term of his natural life payable quarterly on the first day of January the first day of April the first day of July and the first day of October on each year.
