An Act to authorize the Superintendent of the Province of Otago to surrender or re-convey discharged from all Trusts affecting the same to Her Majesty the Queen Her heirs and successors certain Lands held by the said Superintendent upon certain Trusts.
Preamble.
Whereas by Crown Grant bearing date the twenty-eighth day of June one thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight the piece or parcel of Land described in the Schedule hereto was together with other Lands therein described granted unto the Superintendent of the Province of Otago and his successors to hold the same unto the said Superintendent of the said Province and his successors for ever upon trust as a site for Public Offices for the use of the Provincial Government of the Province of Otago And whereas it is expedient that the said piece of Land described in the Schedule hereto should be surrendered or re-conveyed free from and discharged of all trusts affecting the same to Her Majesty the Queen Her heirs and successors for the purpose of widening that part of Princes Street in the Town of Dunedin in the said Province of Otago which adjoins the said piece of Land and is contiguous to the site of the new Post Office
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows—
I Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Otago Provincial Public Offices Site Trusts Act 1865.”
II Superintendent authorized to re-convey to Her Majesty.
The Superintendent of the Province of Otago for the time being is hereby authorized to surrender or re-convey to Her Majesty the Queen Her heirs and successors the piece or parcel of Land described in the Schedule hereto free from and discharged of the trusts upon which the said piece of Land was granted to the Superintendent of the Province of Otago by the Crown Grant dated the twenty-eighth day of June one thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight anything in “The Public Reserves Act 1854”
to the contrary notwithstanding.
Schedule
All that area situate in the town of Dunedin being a portion of Reserve numbered seven (7) on the map of the said City or Town containing by admeasurement one (1) rood and nine (9) poles more or less bounded towards the North by Princes Street six hundred and twelve (612) links towards the East by Crown Lands fifty (50) links towards the South by the remainder of Reserve numbered seven (7) six hundred and twelve (612) links and towards the West by Crown Lands fifty (50) links.
