An Act to make further provisions respecting part of the Wellington City Reserves.
This Act, excepting sections 8 and 9, was repealed, as from 19 November 1907, by section 2 Statutes Repeal Act 1907 (1907 No 40).
And whereas by a proviso contained in section 4 of the Wellington City Reserves Act, 1871, it is enacted that of the moneys to be derived from the lands described in Schedule 1 of the said Act, one-half shall be devoted to the ornamentation and utilization of the lands referred to in the said Act: And whereas it is expedient that a certain proportion of such moneys should be specially devoted to such of the lands described in Schedule 2 to the said Act as may under the provisions of that Act be conveyed to the Board of Governors of the Botanic Gardens: It is hereby enacted, that of the said half of moneys a proportion not less in amount than one-third thereof shall be annually paid by the Treasurer of the said Corporation to the Board of Governors of the Botanic Gardens, to be expended in accordance with the proviso above referred to in the ornamentation and utilization of the lands so to be conveyed to the said Board.
And whereas by the second proviso to section 4 of the said Act the other half of the said moneys is devoted to the making and maintenance of roads in the Town Belt: Be it enacted that a road along the harbour, beginning at the northern end of Kent Terrace and passing by Clyde Quay, Oriental Terrace to the Town Belt, is hereby declared to be a road to the making and maintenance of which such funds may be devoted.
