An Act to amend “The Southland Waste Lands Act, 1865.”

Preamble.

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend “The Southland Waste Lands Act, 1865:”

Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Southland Waste Lands Act Amendment Act, 1872.”

2 Section 20 of “The Southland Waste Lands Act, 1865,” repealed.

The twentieth section of “The Southland Waste Lands Act, 1865,” is hereby repealed, and in lieu thereof it is enacted as follows:—

Town lands shall be sold by public auction in sections the size and upset price of which shall be determined by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Otago; and it shall be lawful for the Superintendent and Provincial Council from time to time to alter and vary the size and upset price of such sections as may appear to be expedient.
