An Act to amend “The Distillation Act, 1868.”
Preamble.
WHEREAS it is expedient to amend “The Distillation Act, 1868:”
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Distillation Act Amendment Act, 1872.”
2 How to be read.
In this Act, “the said Act”
shall mean “The Distillation Act, 1868;”
and this Act and the said Act shall be read and construed as one Act.
3 Requirements of Provincial Ordinances to be observed by wine and spirit dealers licensed under said Act.
No license issued under the one hundred and twenty-fifth or one hundred and thirty-fifth and one hundred and thirty-sixth sections of the said Act shall, after the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three, exempt the holder thereof from complying with the requirements of any other Act or Ordinance for regulating the sale of spirits wine or fermented liquor, or for the licensing of brewers, which may for the time being be in force in the Province place or district in which the business of such holder is carried on, nor shall such license confer on the holder thereof any rights or privileges whatsoever inconsistent or at variance with any Provincial license also held by him.
