An Act to enable the Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki to sit and vote in the Provincial Council of the said Province.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Superintendent of Taranaki Empowering Act, 1873.”
2 Superintendent ex officio Member of Provincial Council.
From and after the passing of this Act, it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, by virtue of his said office of Superintendent, and so long as he shall hold such office, to sit and vote in the Provincial Council of the said Province, and to take part in the debates and other proceedings therein, in like manner and as fully as any elected Member thereof.
3 Provision not to apply to Deputy Superintendent.
This provision shall not apply to the Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki.
