An Act to amend “The Public Debts Sinking Funds Act, 1868.”

Preamble.

WHEREAS by the second section of an Act intituled “The Public Debts Sinking Funds Act, 1868,” it is enacted that the Colonial Treasurer of New Zealand or the Minister for the time acting as and for the Colonial Treasurer, the Auditor of the Public Accounts of New Zealand, or, in his absence from the colony, the Deputy Auditor, the Comptroller of the Public Revenues of New Zealand, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the time being respectively shall, by virtue of their office, together with Alfred Ludlam, Esquire, be Commissioners for carrying into execution the purposes of the said Act, and shall be styled the Commissioners of the Public Debts Sinking Funds: And whereas the said Alfred Ludlam, Esquire, did desire to be relieved from being one of the said Commissioners: And whereas by “The Public Debts Sinking Funds Act Amendment Act 1869” it is enacted that the second section of the said first-recited Act shall be amended by leaving out the words “together with Alfred Ludlam, Esquire,” And whereas it is expedient that the Public Trustee should be appointed to be one of the said Commissioners:

Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Public Debts Sinking Funds Act Amendment Act, 1875.”

2 Section 2 of “Public Debts Sinking Funds Act, 1868,” repealed.

The second section of “The Public Debts Sinking Funds Act, 1868,” is hereby repealed.

3 Who to be Commissioners.

The following shall stand and be read as the second section of the said Act in the place of the section hereby repealed:—“The Colonial Treasurer of New Zealand, or the Minister for the time being acting in his behalf, the two Commissioners of Audit, the Public Trustee and the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the time being, shall by virtue of their several offices be Commissioners for carrying into execution the purposes of this Act, and shall be styled ‘The Commissioners of the, Public Debts Sinking Funds.’”

4 Acts done, &c. to be as valid as if this Act had not been passed.

Everything Which has been done by the Commissioners of the Public Debts Sinking Funds appointed under the section hereby repealed shall be as valid and effectual as if this Act had hot been passed.
