An Act to amend “The Imbecile Passengers Act, 1873.”
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Imbecile Passengers Act Amendment Act, 1875.”
2 Third section of “Imbecile Passengers Act, 1873,”
amended by insertion of word “fourteen”
in lieu of “seven.”
The third section of “The Imbecile Passengers Act, 1873”
(hereinafter called “the said Act”
), shall be taken and read as if the word “fourteen”
had been inserted in lieu of the word “seven”
therein.
3 Where ship liable to or ordered to perform quarantine, fourteen days to count from certificate of performance.
In every case where any ship shall have performed quarantine, in accordance with “The Public Health Act, 1872,”
the period of fourteen days after her arrival, mentioned in the third section of “The Imbecile Passengers Act, 1873,”
as amended by this Act, shall be deemed to have commenced from the day of the date on which a certificate that such ship has duly performed quarantine shall have been approved and allowed, in accordance with the seventy-seventh section of “The Public Health Act, 1872.”
