WHEREAS certain lands in the Town of Lyttelton, of which the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part, by grant from the Crown bearing date the eleventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five, became vested in the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, subject to the provisions of “The Public Reserves Act, 1854: And whereas by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the said Province of Canterbury, intituled “The Municipal Council Reserves Ordinance, 1862,” the said lands, inter alia, became vested in the Lyttelton Municipal Council, now called the Lyttelton Borough Council, and its successors, as a body corporate, in trust for the public uses and purposes of the said Province of Canterbury: And whereas it is expedient that the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto should be divested from the said Lyttelton Municipal or Borough Council and vested in the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury for educational purposes:
