An Act to vest part of a certain Educational Reserve in Mr. James Cruickshank Smith.

Preamble.

WHEREAS a certain parcel of land situate in the Province of Otago has been, by grant from the Crown, vested in the Superintendent of the Province of Otago in trust as an Educational Reserve: And whereas James Cruickshank Smith, of Moa Flat, miner, is justly and truly entitled to the portion of the said reserve described in the Schedule hereto, and it is desirable to vest the same in the said James Cruickshank Smith:

Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Moa Flat School Reserve Act, 1876.”

2 Land described in Schedule vested in James Cruickshank Smith.

The parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby vested in James Cruickshank Smith, of Moa Flat, miner; and the Superintendent of the Province of Otago is hereby authorized to convey and assure the said parcel of land unto the said James Cruickshank Smith, his heirs and assigns, for ever.

Schedule

All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement one (1) acre, more or less, situate in the Benger District, and being part of Section numbered two of Block VI., on the map of the said district. Commencing at the north-east corner of said Section numbered two, and bearing from thence (along the main road Teviot to Dunedin) by line 135° 52’ for a distance of eight hundred and twenty-six (826) links to the starting point; thence by a line bearing 230° 04’ for a distance of five hundred and one (501) links; thence by a line bearing 135° 52’ for a distance of two hundred (200) links; thence by a line bearing 50° 04’ for a distance of five hundred and one (501) links; thence by a line bearing 315° 52’ for a distance of two hundred (200) links to the starting point.
