An Act to enable the Governors of Wellington College to raise a further sum of Five Thousand Pounds.
Preamble.
WHEREAS by “The Wellington College Loan Act, 1873,”
the Governors were authorized, for the purpose of completing the erection of suitable buildings and premises for use as a College to borrow any sum of money not exceeding in the whole the sum of five thousand pounds: And whereas it is necessary to borrow a further sum for such purpose:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assemby of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Wellington College Act Amendment Act, 1876.”
2 Governors of Wellington College may borrow money. Proviso.
The Governors of the Wellington College shall have power to raise a further sum of five thousand pounds in like manner and subject to the same terms and conditions and for the like purposes as mentioned in the herein-recited Act concerning the sum of five thousand pounds therein authorized to be borrowed, and as if the sum of ten thousand pounds had been in the same Act inserted instead of five thousand pounds: Provided always that no mortgage for raising money under this Act shall contain any power of sale in case of default.
