An Act to amend “The Patents Act, 1870.”
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Patents Act Amendment Act, 1879.”
2 Alteration of form of notice of intention to proceed with application for Patent.
The form of notice set forth in the First Schedule to this Act is hereby substituted for the form set forth in the Second Schedule to “The Patents Act, 1870”
(herein termed “the said Act”
), and such notice shall be published once only in the Gazette and newspapers prescribed by the tenth section of the said Act.
3 Amendment of section 16 of “The Patents Act, 1870.”
The sixteenth section of the said Act shall be read as if the words “not being more than one month”
had never been inserted therein.
4 Alteration in scale of fees payable under said Act.
The fees to be paid in respect of the several matters mentioned in the thirty-eighth section of the said Act, and in the Eighth Schedule thereto, shall be those specified in the Second Schedule to this Act; and the scale of fees hereby provided for shall come into force on the first day of January next, and shall apply to all matters and things then pending, or in respect of which any such fee is payable.

A.B., of , bas deposited at this office a specification of the said invention, and I have appointed the day of next, at o’clock in the forenoon, at this office, to hear the said application and all objections thereto; and I require all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the day of next, at this office, particulars in writing of their objections t e said application, otherwise they will be precluded from urging the same.
