An Act to make further provision to prevent the Introduction of Imbecile Persons into New Zealand.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Imbecile Passengers Act Extension Act, 1879.”
2 “Imbecile Passengers Act, 1873,”
amended.
Section six of “The Imbecile Passengers Act, 1873,”
is hereby amended by the omission therefrom of the words following, that is to say,—
“Nor to the crews of ships who shall have signed articles for the whole voyage.”
3 Act to extend to crews of vessels.
The provisions of “The Imbecile Passengers Act, 1873,”
and any Act amending the same, shall extend to the crew of any ship, and to all persons on board and belonging in any capacity to any ship, in the same manner as the said provisions apply to passengers by any ship.
