An Act to validate certain Proclamations.

Preamble.

WHEREAS the Proclamations particularly referred to in the Schedule hereto were severally expressed to take effect on the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, but were not gazetted until the fourth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty, and doubts exist as to the validity of appointments made and acts done thereunder:

Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

The Short Title of this Act is “The Proclamations Validation Act, 1880.”

2 Validating certain Proclamations.

The Proclamations hereinbefore mentioned and specified in the Schedule hereto shall be held to have come into operation and to have taken effect on the days therein expressed for that purpose, and all appointments made and all acts done thereunder (so far as in other respects legal) shall be held to have been validly made and done, and the same are hereby declared to be good and valid in law accordingly.
