An Act to amend “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Justices of the Peace Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1884.”
2 Interpretation.
In the construction of this Act the words “the said Act”
mean “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”
3 Two Justices or Resident Magistrate to adjudicate on indictable offences.
In subsection two of section one hundred and eighteen of the said Act all words after the word “before”
where it first occurs in the said subsection shall be struck out, and the words “two Justices or a Resident Magistrate”
shall be inserted in lieu thereof.
