An Act to amend the Public Revenues Acts.

Preamble.

WHEREAS by the fifth section of “The Public Revenues Act, 1884,” it is enacted that the sum of four hundred thousand pounds, mentioned in the eighteenth section of “The Public Revenues Act, 1878,” should, during the present financial year, be extended to six hundred thousand pounds, and it is expedient that the same be further extended:

Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title.

The Short Title of this Act is “The Public Revenues Act 1884, No. 2;” and this Act shall be read as a part of “The Public Revenues Act, 1878,” and the several Acts amending the same.

2 Power to borrow on deficiency bills augmented.

The sum of four hundred thousand pounds, mentioned in the eighteenth section of “The Public Revenues Act, 1878,” and extended by the fifth section of “The Public Revenues Act, 1884,” to six hundred thousand pounds during the present financial year, shall, until the thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, be extended to the sum of six hundred and fifty thousand pounds.
