An Act to define the Meaning of certain Words in “The Customs Duties Consolidation Act, 1882.”
Preamble
WHEREAS doubts exist as to the true intent and meaning of the following words in “The Customs Duties Consolidation Act, 1882,”
namely: “Cotton dress prints, navy blue or other similar description of cotton piece goods:”
And whereas it is desirable to repeal the said recited words and to substitute others that more specifically describe the articles named:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title
The Short Title of this Act is “The Customs Duties Interpretation Act, 1885.”
2 Meaning of certain words defined.
The said recited words are hereby repealed, and the following shall be substituted in lieu thereof:—
Cotton dress prints in the piece, the fair market value of which as defined in section forty of “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,”in the country whence the same were exported does not exceed fivepence the yard |
