The Short Title of this Act is “The Education Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1890.”

The District Land Registrar of Hawke’s Bay is hereby authorised and required to issue certificates of title respectively for the one thousand acres of land at Puhoi Bush mentioned in the Gazette notice of 12th June, 1878, as being apportioned for primary education by the aforesaid arbitrators, and the five thousand acres at Puketoi also in the said notice mentioned as being apportioned for secondary education, for an estate in fee-simple, vested as from the said 12th June, 1878, in the School Commissioners of the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay for the above purposes respectively, subject to the provisions of “The Education Reserves Act, 1877.”

With respect to part of Reserve No. 1400, which in the aforesaid Gazette of 12th June, 1878, was intended to be allocated for the purposes of secondary education, the District Land Registrar of Canterbury is hereby authorised and required to issue a certificate of title for the lands comprised in Lot 2 on a plan deposited in the Lands Registry Office at Christchurch as No. 859, and containing by admeasurement four hundred and ten acres one rood and thirty-four perches (more or less), being the aforesaid part of Reserve No. 1400, for an estate in fee-simple, vested, as from the 5th March, 1879, by notification in the Gazette, in the Board of Governors of the Timaru High School, established under “The Timaru High School Act, 1878,” for the maintenance of the said school.

To give access to the aforesaid lands, the School Commissioners for the Canterbury Provincial District hereby give a right of way over the road to the north-east of Lot 2 of the aforesaid Deposit Plan No. 859; and the description of the land included in the right-of-way shall be as follows, namely,—

The aforesaid Registrar is hereby authorised to cancel the certificate of title heretofore issued to the School Commissioners of the Provincial District of Canterbury for the Reserve No. 1400, containing one thousand eight hundred and thirty-eight acres, and in lieu thereof shall issue a new certificate of title to the said Commissioners for the area of theafore said Reserve No. 1400 as affected by this Act.
