An Act to amend “The Private Tramways Act, 1882.”
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Private Tramways Amendment Act, 1891.”
2 Private tramways may be constructed upon parts of streets.
Subject to the provisions of “The Private Tramways Act, 1882”
(herein referred to as “the said Act”
), any private tramway may be authorised to be constructed upon or along any part of any street or road.
3 For connecting colliery with shipping or railway, may be constructed along streets.
For the purpose of connecting any colliery with any shipping place or railway-station, and subject as aforesaid, any private tramway may be authorised to be constructed upon or along any street or road; and the local authority may from time to time grant a license for any such tramway for any term not exceeding ten years, upon such special or particular conditions as the said local authority shall think fit, anything contained in sections seven and ten of the said Act to the contrary notwithstanding.
4 Repeal.
Section twenty-one of “The Public Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1884,”
is hereby repealed.
