An Act to further amend “The Native Land Court Act, 1886,”
and the several Acts amending the same.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Native Land Court Acts Amendment Act, 1891.”
2 Repeal.
Proceedings staid.
Section twenty-eight of “The Native Land Courts Acts Amendment Act, 1889,”
and the first paragraph of section five of “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1890,”
are hereby repealed.
No action shall be brought or proceeding of any kind whatsoever taken or continued in any Court before the end of the next session of the General Assembly for the purpose of calling in question, or that may have the effect of calling in question, the validity of any alienation or acquisition of land or of any interest therein within the meaning of section twenty of “The Native Land Court Acts Amendment Act, 1889,”
or the validity of any deed, memorandum of transfer, or other document purporting or intended to effect any such alienation or acquisition, or purporting or intended to be or contain a contract for such alienation or acquisition; and the land the subject of any such alienation or acquisition shall be inalienable in any way whatsoever until the end of the next session of the General Assembly.
3 Parts of Horowhenua inalienable.
Notwithstanding the provisions of any Act to the contrary, the several parcels of land in the Provincial District of Wellington known respectively as Horowhenua number six, Horowhenua number eleven, and Horowhenua number twelve, and every part thereof, shall be inalienable in any manner whatsoever until the termination of the next session of the General Assembly; and any action heretofore commenced or proceedings taken and now pending in relation thereto, or in relation to the payment or distribution of any rents or profits arising therefrom, shall be and the same are hereby stayed until the end of the next session of the General Assembly.
