An Act to amend “The Harbours Act, 1878.”
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Harbours Act Amendment Act, 1896.”
It shall be read together with “The Harbours Act, 1878”
(hereinafter referred to as “the principal Act”
).
2 Amendment in constitution of Napier Harbour Board.
The portion of the Second Schedule of the principal Act relating to the constitution of the Napier Harbour Board is hereby-amended by inserting the word “thirteen”
in lieu of the word “twelve”
in the first column, and by adding to the list of members, by election in the fourth column the following: “one person to be elected by the Napier Chamber of Commerce.”
3 Constitution of Napier Harbour Board.
The corporate capacity of the Napier Harbour Board as now constituted shall not be affected by this Act. The Board shall continue to be constituted of twelve members until the election of the thirteenth member by the Napier Chamber of Commerce, and thereafter shall be constituted of thirteen members.
