The Short Title of this Act is “The Alcoholic Liquors Inspection Act, 1896.”

In addition to the powers by section thirty-six of “The Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act Amendment Act, 1895,” conferred upon special Inspectors appointed thereunder, every such special Inspector shall for the purposes of that section be deemed to be an Inspector and also an Analyst under “The Adulteration Prevention Act, 1880,” and shall possess and combine in his own person all the powers and functions by that Act conferred upon either an Inspector or an Analyst thereunder; and accordingly, wherever in that Act an Inspector is directed to do one thing and an Analyst another, the special Inspector may himself do both.

The Governor may from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, make such regulations as he thinks fit in order to define the powers and functions of special Inspectors, and to give full effect to the purposes of this Act.
