An Act to amend “The Fencing Act, 1895.”
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Fencing Act Amendment Act, 1898.”
2 Section 14 of “Fencing Act, 1895,”
repealed.
Section fourteen of “The Fencing Act, 1895,”
is hereby repealed.
3 Consequential amendments of said Act.
The aforesaid Act is hereby further amended as follows:—
(1.)
As to subsection ten of section thirty-five thereof: By repealing the words “due regard being had in the case of a rabbit-proof fence to the extent of the benefit received therefrom”
; and also
(2.)
As to paragraph (c) of section forty thereof: By repealing the words “due regard being had to the considerations referred to in section fourteen hereof.”
4 Operation of sections 2 and 3 limited.
The provisions of the two last-preceding sections hereof shall have application only within the Middle Island of New Zealand, and also within any such county of the North Island of New Zealand as the Governor appoints in that behalf, on the petition of the Council of such county.
5 Section 19 of “The Fencing Act, 1895,”
amended.
Section nineteen of “The Fencing Act, 1895,”
is hereby amended by the substitution of the word “sixty-six”
for the word “thirty-three.”
6 Section 3 of “The Fencing Act Amendment Act, 1896,”
amended.
Section three of “The Fencing Act Amendment Act, 1896,”
is hereby amended by the word “Grey”
being inserted after the word “Westland.”
