Labour Day Act 1899

An Act to constitute a Public Holiday to be known as Labour Day.

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

The Short Title of this Act is “The Labour Day Act, 1899.”

The second Wednesday in the month of October in each year shall be known as “Labour Day.”

Labour Day is hereby declared to be a public holiday.
