An Act to indemnify various Local Authorities for the Expenditure of Moneys in connection with the Visit of their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Local Authorities Indemnity Act, 1901.”
2 Expenses of receiving the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York.
(1.)
It shall be deemed to have been lawful for any local authority to expend, directly or indirectly, during the financial year ending the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and two, out of its funds, any sum or sums of money in fitly receiving their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York on their visit to New Zealand.
(2.)
For the purposes of this Act “local authority”
includes the Council of any city or borough or county, and any Road Board, Town Board, Harbour Board, Drainage Board, and Education Board.
