An Act to reduce the Fees payable in respect of Miners’ Rights in certain Cases.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Miners’ Rights Fee Reduction Act, 1901.”
2 Fee for miner’s right.
The fee payable upon the issue of a miner’s right is hereby reduced to five shillings in every case where the miner’s right does not relate to Native ceded land, and subsection eight of section sixty-two of “The Mining Act, 1898,”
is hereby modified accordingly.
3 Fee as to miners’ rights in relation to Native land.
In the case of miners’ rights relating to any specified block of Native ceded land, the fee may be reduced to five shillings in the cases and subject to the conditions set forth in section sixty-three of the aforesaid Act; and subsections one and two of that section are hereby modified accordingly by substituting the words “five shillings”
in lieu of the words “ten shillings”
wherever the latter words occur therein.
