An Act to provide for the Inspection of Flax intended for Export, and to regulate the Exportation thereof.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Flax Grading and Export Act, 1901.”
2 Flax to be graded before exportation.
No flax shall be shipped or placed on board any ship for exportation to any place beyond New Zealand unless it has been inspected by an officer duly authorised in that behalf, and graded by him according to regulations made by the Governor under this Act.
3 Penalty.
Every person who commits a breach of this Act, or of any regulations made thereunder, is liable to a penalty not exceeding fifty pounds.
