An Act to make Further Provision for the Maintenance of a Naval Force in Australasian Waters.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Australasian Naval Defence Act, 1902.”
2 Annual contribution of New Zealand.
(1.)
The Colonial Treasurer is hereby authorised to pay annually to His Majesty, out of the Consolidated Fund, without further appropriation than this Act, the contribution of New Zealand towards the maintenance of a naval force for the protection of shipping in Australasian waters, such contribution being assessed in the manner prescribed by “The Australasian Naval Defence Act, 1887.”
(2.)
This Act shall be deemed to have been in force from the termination of the period of ten years provided by the agreement referred to in the last-mentioned Act.
