An Act to amend “The Inebriates Institutions Act, 1898.”

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Short Title

The Short Title of this Act is “The Inebriates Institutions Amendment Act, 1902”; and it shall form part of and be read together with “The Inebriates Institutions Act, 1898.”

2 Punishment of unruly inmates.

Where any person detained in an institution is convicted a second time under section sixteen of “The Inebriates Institutions Act, 1898,” the Magistrate may commit him to prison for any period not exceeding twelve months.
