An Act to indemnify various Local Authorities for the Expenditure of Moneys in connection with the Celebration of the Coronation of His Majesty King Edward the Seventh.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Local Authorities Indemnity Act, 1902.”
2 Expenses of celebration of Coronation of His Majesty.
(1.)
It shall be deemed to have been lawful for any local authority to expend, directly or indirectly, during the financial year ending on the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and three, out of its funds, any sum or sums of money in fitly celebrating the Coronation of His Majesty King Edward the Seventh.
(2.)
For the purposes of this Act “local authority”
means the Council of any city or borough or county, and any Road Board, Harbour Board, or Town Board, and includes the Town Council of Rotorua.
