The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Secret Commissions Amendment Act 2015.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3 Principal Act
This Act amends the Secret Commissions Act 1910 (the principal Act).
4 Section 2 amended (Interpretation)
In section 2, insert in its appropriate alphabetical order:
child of any agent includes a child of a spouse or a civil union partner or a de facto partner of an agent and in section 5(2) child has a corresponding meaning
5 Section 13 replaced (Penalty on conviction)
Replace section 13 with:
13 Penalty on conviction
A person who commits an offence against this Act is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 7 years.
