An Act to provide for the Grant of Military Pensions in lieu of Old-age Pensions in certain Cases.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Military Pensions Act, 1911.
2 Grant of military pensions in lieu of old-age pensions in certain cases.
(1.)
Any person entitled to a pension under the Old-age Pensions Act, 1908, who served under the Crown as a soldier in any war shall be entitled in lieu of a pension under that Act to a military pension of the same amount and subject to the same conditions as an old-age pension, and all the provisions of the said Act shall extend and apply to such military pensions.
(2.)
The question whether a person is entitled to a military pension instead of an old-age pension shall be decided by the Magistrate to whom the application for the pension is made.
