This Act may be cited as the Hutt Railway and Road Improvement Amendment Act, 1911, and shall form part of and be read together with the Hutt Railway and Road Improvement Act, 1903 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

The cost (whether incurred before or after the passing of this Act) of forming and constructing the road or street particularly mentioned in section four of the principal Act and referred to in that Act as “the new Hutt Road” shall be borne by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto, in such proportions as are declared by the Minister in pursuance of section eight of the principal Act.

The cost of maintaining the said road from time to time shall be borne by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto, in the same proportions as are declared by the Minister in pursuance of section eight of the principal Act as the proportions in which those local authorities shall bear the cost of forming and constructing the said road.

All references to local authorities in sections eight, nine, and twelve of the principal Act shall be deemed to be references to the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

Sections seven and eleven of the principal Act, and the Second Schedule thereto, are hereby repealed.

Section eight of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from subsection one the words “such cost,” and substituting the words “the cost of forming and constructing the new Hutt Road.”
