An Act to amend the Legislature Act, 1908.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Legislature Amendment Act, 1914 (No. 2), and shall form part of and be read together with the Legislature Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Disqualification of Legislative Councillor.
Section four of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding after paragraph (f) the following words: “or
“(g.)
If he is proved to the satisfaction of a Committee of the Council to have acted, for commission or other reward, as agent on behalf of the owner or of any other person having an interest in any land for the purpose of securing the purchase or acquisition of that land by the Crown.”
3 Disqualification of member of Parliament.
Section thirty of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding after paragraph (j) the following words: “or
“(k.)
If he is proved to the satisfaction of a Committee of the House to have acted, for commission or other reward, as agent on behalf of the owner or of any other person having an interest in any land for the purpose of securing the purchase or acquisition of that land by the Crown.”
