An Act to amend the Law Practitioners Act, 1908.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Law Practitioners Amendment Act, 1915, and shall form part of and be read together with the Law Practitioners Act, 1908.
2 Section 3 of Amendment Act, 1913, amended.
Section three of the Law Practitioners Amendment Act, 1913, is hereby amended as follows:—
(a.)
By omitting the words “ten shillings”
in subsection one thereof, and substituting the words “one pound one shilling”
;
(b.)
By omitting from subsection two the words “for the purposes of the said Society”
; and
(c.)
By adding the following subsection:—
“(3.)
The Treasurer of the New Zealand Law Society shall, in respect of every such additional fee received by him, forthwith pay over to the New Zealand Council of Law Reporting the sum of eleven shillings.”
3 King’s Counsel shall not practise as a solicitor.
No practising barrister of the rank of King’s Counsel shall also practise as a solicitor, either alone or in partnership with any other solicitor, and no certificate under section forty-five of the principal Act shall be issued to any such barrister; but this provision shall not apply to any barrister in New Zealand at present holding the patent of King’s Counsel.
